SPECIAL NOTES: The information and the goodbye at the bottom of
the list is taken from Metropolitan Report, Volume #288H. This is
 indeed WABC's last music survey.

SPECIAL NOTES: This week, for the 11th week in its Top 40 history,
there is no #1 on WABC's survey!

On Monday, 10 May 1982, at 12:00 (noon), WABC ended its twenty-two
year run as a Top 40 station, adopting a talk format.

NOTE: Note that WABC did not report numbers 1, 8, 14, and 19.
The songs at these positions probably had a harder edge to
 them, such as:
I Love Rock 'N Roll - Joan Jett & the Blackhearts (Boardwalk)(probably the final #1)
 We Got The Beat - Go-Go's (I.R.S.)
 867-5309/Jenny - Tommy Tutone (Columbia)
 Freeze-Frame - J. Geils Band (EMI America)
Don't You Want Me - Human League (A&M)
(Oh) Pretty Woman - Van Halen (Warner Brothers)
Do You Believe In Love - Huey Lewis & the News (Chrysalis)
 Pac-man Fever - Buckner & Garcia (Columbia)

As WABC's music format edged to a more adult sound, fewer harder
songs (of any variety - rock, urban, etc.) were played or noted.
