The Herb Oscar Anderson songs were also played in a "Hot Prospect" rotation, with obvious bias and for obvious reasons (see below). It's a sure bet that these songs were not played on crosstown rival WMCA! This week began the great AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) strike. The regular WABC on-air staff walked out due to a contract dispute with ABC. The following management and non-union personnel took over their shifts. They billed themselves as the "New All Americans." Minor variations of the following schedules took place: Dan "Billy Joe" Aaron (for Dan Ingram) Jeff Berman (for Bruce Morrow) John Brittain (for Chuck Leonard) Bill Ferman (for Dan Ingram) Marty Grove (for Bruce Morrow, Charlie Greer) Bernie "the K" Koval (for Ron Lundy) Fred Laffe (for Herb Oscar Anderson, Dan Ingram) "Johnny Roe" (actually, WLS programmer John Rook; for Dan Ingram and Bob Lewis) John Marshall (for Herb Oscar Anderson) Jeff Telice (for Bruce Morrow, Ron Lundy, Charlie Greer) Additionally, WABC Program Director Rick Sklar did news.
